What PDF Toucan is

PDF Toucan is a collection of free online tools for everyday PDF work: merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing, signing and protecting documents. It was built by a small independent team that got tired of upload limits, watermarks and sign-up walls on the tools everyone uses at work.

The site is designed around one idea: your document should not have to leave your computer to be edited. Wherever the technology allows it, the processing runs inside your browser using a local PDF engine. Only a few heavy tasks, such as OCR and Office conversions, are handled on our servers, and even then nothing is stored: files are processed in memory and deleted as soon as you download the result.

How it is funded

PDF Toucan is free to use and supported by advertising. We do not sell premium tiers that lock features, and we never sell or share the contents of your files. Ads are served by Google and are subject to your cookie choices in regions where consent is required.

Who builds it

PDF Toucan is built and run by an independent developer based in Türkiye, not by a company. The tool pages and guides are drafted with AI writing tools from the tools' real behaviour, checked by automated quality gates before publication, and corrected by hand when readers report a mistake.
