Using the service

PDF Toucan provides free online tools for working with PDF and related document formats. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You may use the tools for personal and commercial purposes. You must not use them to process content you have no right to process, to distribute malware, to attack or overload the service, or to circumvent rate limits or abuse controls. Automated bulk use of server-side tools requires our written permission.

Your content

You keep all rights to the files you process. For tools that run in your browser, we never receive your files. For server-side tools, you grant us a temporary license to process the file solely to deliver the result to you; the file is processed in memory, never stored, and deleted as soon as the result has been downloaded (at the latest after 10 minutes). You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the documents you process, including removing password protection only from files you are entitled to open.

Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but provide the service as is, without guarantees of uninterrupted operation. We may change, limit or discontinue tools at any time. Server-side tools have file size, page and frequency limits that may change.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The tools are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of conversions. Always keep a copy of your original file. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF Toucan is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the service, which is zero.

Advertising and third parties

The site displays advertisements served by third parties. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or for third-party websites linked from the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of PDF Toucan is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumers benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of their country of residence.
